  • This is feed meanly for breeding pigs – Sows, Boars and Gifts.  Each consumes 3kg per day on average except suckling Sows that consume 4.5 to 5.5kg per day depending on litter size.
  • Some farmers completely leave out the Starter and Grower Feeds and just use Sow and Weaner Meal on piglets, weaners and growing pigs. This seriously retards growth rate of piglets and weaners.Where Grower is unavailable, Sow and Weaner should be fed to pigs between 13 and 20 weeks old.
  • Sow and Weaner nutrients are similar to Grower but the Vitamins Minerals plus key Amino Acids are generally richer in the Pig Grower Meal, which is designed for younger growing pigs.
  • Sow and Weaner Meal should be fed wet in two meals per day except where it replaces pig Grower Meal.
  • Packages. 70kg, 20kg and 10kg bags

  • This is lower in protein than the Grower Meal (see table)
  • It is introduced at the middle of the 20thweek   and mixed with the grower for 3-4 days before Grower Meal is completely withdrawn at the end of this week.
  • It is fed from 21 to 28 weeks of age when pigs are ready for slaughter at 95-100kg live weight.
  • Over this period each pig consumes 2.6 kg of pig finishing meal per day.
  • Pigs should be fed three meals per day wet – dry wet like for the Grower Meal
  • It is of lower protein than the Pig Grower since pigs have lower muscle development over this period than in earlier stages.
  • Packages: 70kg, 20kg and 10kg bags.

  • Feed for piglets (suckling pigs) and weaners - (end of suckling at 6 weeks to 12 weeks age).
  • Formulated with highly nutritious ingredients with good flavor to encourage consistent intake in young pigs.
  • Can be introduced as early as 10 days of age in handfuls for early adaptation to avoid post weaning stress in young pigs.
  • Should be fed dry in three (3) meals per day.
  • Each piglet consumes 37 to 39 kg of Pig Starter Meal up to 12 weeks on average.
  • Pig Starter Meal ensures a good start for young pigs in life for early attainment of slaughter weight in 190 to 196 days against the common 240 days that is uneconomical.

  • This feed is introduced by the middle of 12 weeks and mixed with the Starter for 3-4 days before complete withdrawal of Pig Starter Meal.  The slow change - over avoids nutritional disturbance.
  • It is fed from 13-20 weeks.  Over this period, each pig consumes 2.0 to 2.2 kg per day depending on feeding management.
  • Over this period, growing pigs should be fed three times per day, thus morning, mid-day- 4:00pm. Morning and afternoon meals should be wet while mid day feed should be dry to allow longer feeding time.  This system limits boredom and development of vices.
  • Pig Grower Meal is also well balanced in nutrient composition to ensure healthy growth.  It has lower protein (see table) than the Starter.
  • Package: 50kg
